INDEPENDENT FILM ARCHIVES

01. THE MONTREUX MUSIC FESTIVAL ONLINE LIBRARY.

Small businesses and creative collectives from across the globe are opening up their archives to inspire and entertain creatives during this mindnumming time. For 60 days, you can binge out on the Montreaux Jazz Festival’s online archive of live recorded concerts dating all the way back to the 1950’s. What is your answer to the age old question, if you could see any musician in history perform live who would it be? The likelihood is that names such as Nina Simone, Wu Tang Clan, Public Enemy, Queen, Tupac & Bob Marley are going to crop up. Luckily, you no longer have to imagine what bunning a zoot to Bob Marley would be like as you can access all of these concerts and many many more at the link below. We’ve listed a few of our favourites below.

02. IDFA Online Documentary Library

Every year the International Documentary Film Academy hosts an awe inspiring film festival here in Amsterdam that has become a warm and welcome edition to our yearly events plan. Sadly, as is true for all independent creative companies under the current climate, IDFA will be heavily impacted by the current event restrictions. Despite this they have released a large selection of their documentary database, collected from years of festival winners, to be enjoyed, binged and appreciated. Take comfort in the creativity of some of the worlds best underground film makers. Regarding the release, IDFA made this statement:

“In the spirit of togetherness and the love of documentary film, we have put together some curated selections from our online collection. We are happy share those with you today.”

Free Sample Packs & Plugin Sales

Musicans of all genres are struggling to find inspiration and drive for creative output. It is hard to feel inspired to write when the trivial and nonsensical sound and sights of daily life are removed from us. However, like all societies in times of crisis, the biggest supporter of the artistic community is those who exist within it. So producers and musicians from LA to Streatham have released samples, effects and plugins to help stimulate the global creative consiousness. If there is any sector of the community that can thrive whilst stuck inside for weeks looking at a computer screen its producers. Here is a selection of some we have found & used recently.
